Installed the 64 bit version of XP. I have a MSI K8T Neo mother board which has the NIC on board. When installing the NIC driver I recieve a message stating "that there was a problem installing the driver and that it is on the wrong platform." I have confi
rmed that the driver is correct by contacting the vendor of the mother board. I have tried many variations of installing the Eithernet controller. I have even removed the on board controller and introduced a new NIC card via one of my PCI slots. Still noth
ing.
Any advise would be appreciated at this time.

Did they just say the driver was correct for XP or for the 64-bit version of
XP?

Regardless, you are in the wrong place. The 64-bit version which is in beta
testing and has been released simply for evaluation purposes for persons
with the appropriate processor has its own support newsgroups, please see

The finalized, 64 bit version of Windows XP has not even been released yet.
What do you expect with beta software?

Sorry, the link I posted was for the server edition. There should have been
a link to the 64-bit support groups at the download site or with your
documentation if you received it directly from Microsoft.

Greetings --

It may be the correct driver for the NIC, but has the manufacturer
verified that it's also the correct driver to use on a 64-bit OS?
