HELP !!!!!!!!!

For some reason my 40 gig harddrive has been partitioned
and the system drive is only 2 gig. I want to extend it
and only have one. This has been giving me a hard time
because the 2 gig is full.
I can't seem to get rid of the partition and make one
dive. Can somebody help. I was going to format the C: but
it won't let me. I have deleted the partition on th F:
but that didn't help so I formated the F: again. This was
in hopes of extending the C: but you can't extend the
system drive.

You cannot extend the partition on which the operating system is
running using the operating system. You need other software such as
Partition Magic which can do a nondestructive resizing of the
partitions. Since you formatted the other partition you will have
to install your software again anyway.

On the other hand, if all you have now on your hard drive is the
operating system, you can boot from the CD-ROM and rearrange your
partition as you see fit. You would have to remove both partitions
and create a new partition incorporating the entire drive if that is
what you want.

Trying to resize the partition while using the operating system
within that partition is like trying to enlarge the swimming pool
while it is still full of water. As soon as you breach the wall,
you will lose all the contents of the swimming pool.
