It is a vicious little circle, one cannot delete a contact from your list
until they have deleted you from their list; however, they cannot delete you
until you have deleted them.

Needs to be fixed.

Greetings Joel,

It's not a circle at all. We have to be clear on what "list" we're referring to. So to
define:
Main contact list -- the contact list shown when you double-click the Messenger icon
Privacy tab list -- the blocked and allow lists shown when you double-click the Messenger
icon, choose the Tools menu, then Options, then Privacy tab

Now lets take two users, User A and User B. They both add each other to each others' contact
list. Now, User B was User A's girlfriend's friend, and since User A just broke up with his
girlfriend, User A doesn't want to talk to her anymore and blocks her.

The next day, User A removes User B from his *main* contact list. He now looks in his
privacy tab list and still sees User B under the blocked list. User A right-clicks on User
B's name in the privacy tab list and sees the Delete option grayed out. This option is
grayed out because *User B has not removed User A from her *main* contact list*.

Now, a few weeks go by, and User B realizes that User A has probably blocked he as his
relationship with her friend went sour. She opens her *main contact list*, right-clicks User
A and clicks "Delete Contact".

-- At this point both users have removed each other from their *main contact list* and now
the Delete option within the Privacy tab is available for both users, as soon as one of them
chooses that option, the link between the users will be completely broken and neither will
show in each others contact list--

User A then checks his *privacy tab list* a few days later, right clicks on User B and finds
that the Delete option is now available. He clicks the option, and now User A is no longer
on User Bs privacy tab list nor is User B on User As privacy tab list.

It is not a circle, it's merely just removing each other from each others' main contact
lists.

Jonathan, you are a nice fellow, but if what you just described is not
"circle" then I am sure fooled. And by the way for your information I
already knew how it worked. Also, I believe, that is also what I described.
I would suggest that Microsoft fix so that anyone can remove anyone from
their list without any of that routine. Just be able to "remove"....Not
have to wait for someone else to do something, which they will find they
have the same problem also....
