I have an S3 32/64 Trio card installed. XP shows it's
there, but says I need to free up resources for it to
work. I've disabled some unnecessary items, but it still
says "not enough resources available". Anyone?

This is an old video card. While Windows XP says it is there, the drivers
may not be loading. I don't know if support for this old card is available
within Windows XP. Did you run a compatibility test on this card to see if
Windows recognized it? There are apparently no drivers available at the S3
web site for XP and they state they will no longer support the card. Their
web site is http://www.s3graphics.com/index.html

Drivers don't seem to be the problem. Everything appears
correct, just not enough resources. I've disabled
everything I feel comfortable with, but still apparently
not enough.

Simple answer - buy a new card. Time marches on as does graphic card
technology. You'll save yourself many headaches buy simply upgrading.
