The trouble usually originates by keeping the printer connected to the PC
when upgrading or clean installing the operating system. The printer should
be kept DISCONNECTED from the PC and when the new O/S is installed, download
the updated software drivers from the website of the printer manufacturer,
install them and ONLY connect the printer when the software tells you to do
so.

Since it's probably now gotten corrupted drivers, follow Bruce Sanderson's
instructions.

Delete the printer that is using the driver(that's why the OS informs you it
is in use), then delete the driver. Lexmark has a cleanyourlexmarkdriver
uninstall utility for most of their printers. Or follow previous
instructions to completely remove the driver and any additional software
that will cause the spooler not to start once the printer is gone.

then reinstall the driver
