Boot.vis reports that my Seagate 80gb does not have "write enabled" cache.
In properties of "C" drive there is no tab to enable writing to cache. Also
in "Device Manager" under IDE Disk Controllers there is no advanced tab to
set or read the UDMA. Seagate is saying a Windows (XP Home) problem (what's
new) does anybody know what is happening here and could you give me a clue,
even good guess will be appreciated. Should I re-install XP (groan)? I can't
even tell if the disk "is" or "is not" write enabled, can someone help me
out here. Many Thanks, David Gerard

The Advance Tab is usually removed when you install Intel Application
Accelerator software.

Is your motherbaord based on an Intel chipset??????

That seems like a bingo.. have i850 board. Am I better off with Intel
Accelerator or not? Just uninstalled it and the system went bonkers. I have
an image file to restore from or should I play to get it working without
accelerator? Tabs still did not appear but could be system is too screwed up
now. Thanks ever so much, you would have thought Seagate would know or have
suggested that...Thanks again
