I posted this earlier, but the help response I received
did not work. I am upgrading from 98 to XP (had done this
previsuoly, but someone uninstalled XP). Now, Microsft
Shared Fax Client is blocking the upgrade. I was told on
this forum to Click on Start, then Run. and type in CMD-
enter, then cd\-enter, then dir fsxclent.exe /s., etc. I
am not able to type those commands under Run. I went to
the DOS prompt, and that would not accept it either. What
am I doing wrong?

Be sure you check "show hidden files and folders" in folder options.
Do a hard drive search for fxsclnt.exe and delete it, then try to reinstall XP.
