View Full Version : Making Hardware Wizard Go Away!

I have installed a different color printer on a computer
with Windows XP that I've had for a little over one
year. I've installed many printers before and went about
this one the same way. The printer is working.

Everytime I reboot my system, the hardware wizard is
detecting new hardware, tries to install it, then gives
me an error message saying it can't find the proper file
for the installation. From here, I can't make the
hardware wizard go away!

My printer is working fine. What do I do now?

Let it complete its cycle. You'll now have two copies of the same printer.

Go into the Control Panel, doubleclick on Printers & Faxes. Delete both
copies. Reboot the PC. When it starts up, it should reinstall. You should
end up with just one.
