View Full Version : Iexplore hangs at shutdown

What causes Windows to hang when it's being shut down or
restarted. I get a message saying that Iexplore.exe is
the cause and the machine is waiting to shut down. When I
click shut down now the window disappears for a moment
and comes back. This can happen 4-5 times before Windows
finally closes.
I'm running a DELL Dimension 8200, 2.52 Ghz, 1 GB RAM and
Windows XP Pro Version 2002, Sevice Pack 1.

Perhaps you have a trojan or some spyware that doesn't want to shut
down. Perhaps you have other legitimate but intrusive programs trying
to automatically update themselves. Here's a link to a great
