Adding hard drive

hi,
i just added a hard drive to my system and it was
dectected in the bio's and windows xp detected it and its
in the divice manenger as working properply but....its is
not present in my computer which mean i can not add or
read data from it

here is my configuation:

i have a hard drive in master mode which is connected to
the new hard drive which is in slave mode (thats on the
primary IDE...)

then i have a CD R/W on master and a cd rom drive on
slave (thats on the secondary IDE)

i donno what to do...its very strange?!?!

Right-click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE.
Click on DISK MANAGEMENT and in the lower right-hand
window, right-click on your drive (in the shaded area) and=20
select INITIALIZE DISK.
