floppy not reading

Hi,
i need to boot from floppy but recently the drive has had
its power light on perminantely. i didn't worry about
this as i never use it anymore more but now when i select
boot from floppy it doesn't read the disk. i've tried
messing about in the bios but it hasn't worked. i'm
running xp pro.

i had considered it but it was urgent. windows wasn't
starting and i needed it working. i'm a uni student with
assignments coming up and i needed the data. anyway it's
working now so i'm halfway there.
