Hi,

I have just bought a Toshiba Stalliete 6100 with nVidia GeForce4 420 go.

I wasn't informed about how to upgrade this product therefore I have
downloaded and installed the latest drivers for nVidia from the official web
page and then installed directx 9 from microsoft. Afther performing those
changes none of the opengl applications and Directx applications are working
properly. When I run dxdiag.exe and perform the spinning cube test the
application hatls before the cube appears and says "You stopped the test by
pressing a key" and I swear that I don't. None of the opengl applicatons are
working and I can not install the previous drivers. The operating system
find the same drivers over and over again ...

What must I do now ?

Thanks in advance
Onur

You'll need to try the video drivers Toshiba provides on its website first.

I can not install them. I uninstall the problematic drivers and try to
install the drivers which toshiba provides and when I reboot the system, but
the problematic drivers doesn't change! What I should do to make XP to
forget about the problematic drivers, I delete them from the hdd, but I am
not sure if they still remain in System32 folder or not?

Regards
Onur

Use the Driver Rollback feature.

Thank you but XP coders must have tought of that possibility and prevented
it to be the solution of the problem. With the current and previous drivers
the opengl applications don't work at all.

As you may well have guessed I have tried many possibilities before asking
for help here. Why on earth, although all the drivers are installed
properly, the opengl applications don't work? This is a problem I have only
enclountered with this, so called, operating system ...

I believe that we must think of someting that XP coders have never thought
of before, unless then we may find a solution to this...

Try uninstalling youre current drivers then doing a search for all files
beginning nv* and delete them all. Reboot and then install your original
drivers.
