I got a US Robotics 5610 Modem that supports distinctive
rings, but I've been told by US Robotics that Windows XP
does not support the distinctive Rings.
1. Is this true?
2. Does anyone have a workaround?
I am using the PhoneTools software that has the
capability for the distinctive rings by BVRP.

It is not that XP does not support distinctive ring! It the fact that the
driver does not support distinctive rings when you are XP.

Wrong! Distinctive ring does NOT have native support in
2000/XP as it did in 9x. There are alternatives. The OP
should do a Google search on "distinctive ring."
