Im trying to install a printer and I get as far as locate printer and cannt
find it. The USB port works fine with everything but the printer. Have
changed printer cable twice with new ones. Any help?? Thanks

Did you install the printer driver, before hooking the printer to the computer?

Yes have downloaded from HP site. Its a HP deskjet 3320 and it works fine on

Hi, Have tried the website you sent and did everything exactly as stated. If
I use the install screen it cannt find the printer, if I try using the
wizard it wont load the drivers,,???? Frustrating!!!! Any other help you can

I'm having the same problem. Just bought an eMachines computer; had a Compaq Presario. The new computer recognized my IJ900 Compaq printer immediately. When I try to install the HP software it is unable to locate the printer. I've tried unhooking the p
ower to the printer and starting fresh EXACTLY as the on-screen messages prompts me to. Hope someone can help us! Thank you all in advance for any assisance

Change the USB cable. And ensure if you are using a USB hub, it's a powered
one, not an unpowered one.

After you installed XP on the Dell notebook, did you remember to install the
Dell utilities drivers.... which would include the driver for the LPT port?

The issue is with the desktop after installing XP. I didn't realize that
drivers needed to be reinstalled. There's only one drivers CD that came with
the Dell, and it doesn't appear to have anything on it about the LPT1 port.
Would this be something I would find at dell.com? Where else would I find
these drivers?
