startup dos screen

Sony replaced my hard drive. When computer was returned
the Sony (black.white) dos screen listing had not been
reset by Sony. How do I get rid of this screen when
computer starts? It briefly (6-15 seconds) present before
the Windows XP Home screen appears. I've looked at files
in msconfig.exe and can't find anything that addresses
this.

Those settings arein the BIOS,you'll find the adjustment in boot configuration
settings,you could/can also get the latest BIOS update from the board mfg,
flash the BIOS,once its finished loading,open BIOS,exit page,select,load set-up
defaults,then save and exit.You might try this w/o flashing.
