the machine just stops booting at the load up screen thats
what is happing and like i said before on the previous
posting we've tried every thing and the thing that stumps
us the most is that; if we move the hard drive to a
different machine the OS is happier than a clam (in
english) it starts and boots up fine so we don't know and
we have done a repair install. also if we format and
repartion and try to do setup it will hang during setup at
the "setup is now starting windows" message and it does
absolutley nothing so we moved the hard drive to a
different machine did the setup and it works on the other
machine but not the on that we need it to work on. so
anyways does any body have any ideas? reply if u do. thanks

Hi TechHQ

Difficult to follow the story from your post.. but it sounds like a problem
in the communication between the motherboard and the HD... so, just a
thought but have you swapped the IDE cable as well as the hard drive from
the machine that works to the machine that doesn't?

Hope that helps
Pete

Have you checked the memory in the machine you are trying to install
it on? XP is very picky about memory. If a stick is bad or just
marginal, it will cause problems very similar to what you are
experiencing.
