Hello:
I am attempting to reinstall the "Backweb" program from my
manufacture's (Hewlett Packard) recovery CD. However, the
CD-Rom will not read the recovery CD when I insert it or
through "Run". I tried to change the "Reserved Drive
Letter" in the CD-Rom's properties but that did not work.
I can not access the CD any other way either
(ie. "Search", or "Add/Remove Programs").

I might be stating the obvious but you have not mentioned this: have you
tried double clicking the CD drive icon in the My Computer window? Does
your CD drive read any other CD with files on it?

It might not be possible to install the software this way, if you open
Explorer and then expand the contents of the cd and see if there is a
setup or install section. Otherwise you need to boot off the CD and
overwrite your current setup with a fresh setup from the CD.
I suggest visi HP's website and see if the program is downloadable...
