View Full Version : KB 266668 - for Windows XP?
D McClelland
April 2nd 04, 12:03 AM
I have a long "blank space" among the entries in my
Windows XP Control Panel Add/Remove Programs applet. It
is about halfway down the list, it encompasses one entry
in the list (when you highlight that one entry the entire
entry is highlighted).
The entry is for a 3rd-party software package's runtime
engine. I don't know why it is there, but the same
problem is exhibited on other PCs in my company, for the
same software package!
This Microsoft KB 266668 references a similar problem,
for Windows 2000 versions. The solutions presented there
either don't work (Windows XP does not have
setupwbv.dll), or haven't solved the problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi,
Remove the last listed entry from Add or Remove from here:
Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
This has to do with (in most cases), the Default Icon having a negative
number. If it were for Auto-Cad, I have an automated fix. Good luck!
