When I try to login to the internet on my desktop, I
can't. When I get on my wifes desktop, I can hit the
internet icon and log in , and then I can browse through
the web. Why can't I log in to the internet through my
account on my computer and how can I fix it? (Even when
my wife gets on my desktop , she can't log in on the
internet either. We can only access it on her windows
account.)

Greetings --
Is the desktop PC connected to the Internet, either by a cable of
some sort or a wireless connection, and have you configured it in
accordance with the instructions provided by your ISP?

How do you connect to the Internet? If you have a dialup account,
your computer must be connected to a telephone line and the dialup
network adapter must be present with the proper entries. If you are
using Internet Connection Sharing, the host computer must be
properly configured and the client computers must acquire a private
IP address from the host computer. If you start the client
computer first, it will acquire an automatic private IP address
which will not be in the same subnet as the host computer.
