I have twp PCs one on WinXP, the other using WinME. My network is a cable
modem, a Linksys 4 port router, a Linksys wireless Access Point and a
Linksys Wireless B USB adapter. The router is attached by wire to the WinXP
machine. The WinME machine is connected to the network via the USB adapter.
Both machines have fast access to the Internet simultaneously or
individually.
My printer is attached to the WinXP machine. It is set up for sharing. Some
files on the XP are also set up for sharing and appear in the "Shared
Documents" folder.
Problem. I cannot access the shared files on the WinXP machine from the
WinME. I receive a message saying that "there was an error writing to
\\NAME\PRINTER", also "the network Printer is no longer available." I get
the similar messages when I try to access the designated shared files.
This system used to work OK but not now. Apparently I have done something
wrong. Any ideas anyone? Is there a better Newsgroup to place my problem?
