USB Hard Drive

I installed a maxtor 40gb drive on the usb 2.0 port. It is
partitioned and formated. It is drive "G:". Ihave two
internal drives "C:" and "D:" - one CD ROM and one CDRW -
"E:" and "F:". The problem is that I can not see the
external drive in "MY COMPUTER" I use a defrag program
that sees it and system mechanic sees it.I can not do any
copy and paste options or backups because it is not
showing up in XP. Can anyone help

Right-click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE.
Click on DISK MANAGEMENT and in the lower right-hand
window, right-click on your drive (in the shaded area) and=20
select INITIALIZE DISK.
