Windows XP and floppy drive interface

When I try to access different floppy discs from my floppy
drive, XP will not show any other floppy directory than the
first one I entered into the drive. Exiting back to
windows from the disc drive does not work. Rebooting does
not work. I am still showing the same contents from a
floppy disc I tried yesterday. Of course none of the files
are accessible as that is not what is on the current disc.
I did close the access to the floppy drive before
changing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

This suggests a fault with the "disk change" line on the floppy drive -
nothing to do with XP. Either the cable connection or the floppy drive is
faulty.
