i had win98 installed on my c:/ drive and i installed
winXP but it was installed on the d:/ drive so i now have
2 operating systems.
can i format the c:/ drive which has the win98 on? or id
is there any other way to delete the win98?

Formatting the C: drive is not recomended as it contains your windows boot
files. You could however copy your files to the D: drive and delete whats
left on your c: drive excluding files in the c: root directory
