After you enter the data in the rows in the table, select
all the rows that u want to sort and now click on the
table menu item. u will now get the sort feature.

Probably "put them in alphabetical order".

Hi, Teresa,
Try the following:
click Start, right click My Computer, click Properties,
click Advanced tab, click Environment Variables button,
in the System Variables window, click New,
in Variable Name, type: Dircmd,
in Variable Value, type: /o/p
click OK, OK and Apply.
back at the Desktop, REBOOT.
This will sort all files in folders Alphabetically

Thanks for all the assistance so far, unfortunately that didn't work either.
I went through all the steps a second time and the file I typed in shows up
in the applicable system variable blocks but I have tried again and it does
not sort them alphabetically.
I guess until I figure out how to do this all I can do is type all data in
(alphabetize it manually and just type the data in).so it is done already in
alphabet order and then just add in rows etc were I need to insert data. I
have somehow done this before, as I have checked previous tables but just
can't seem to figure it out this time.
Hopefully someone can help me.

If you are using Microsoft Word that came with Works 2000 or later the table
must have a heading setup first.
Insert a blank row above the data by Clicking on the white space to the left
of the first row. This will highlight the entire row.
Click on Table and then click on Insert Row from the dropdown.
Click on the first cell in the new row and type a heading for that column
and then do the same for the remaining columns.
Click on the white space to the left of the new column again to highlight
the entire row.
Click on Table and then on Headings from the drop down list. Nothing will
appear to happen but it has set that row to headings.
To sort the table: Click anywhere on the table heading row. Click on Table
again and then Click on Sort in the dropdown list. Select the column you
want sorted first then second, etc. then click on ok and the sort will
happen.
The Works word processor that came with earlier versions of works will not
(I don't think) sort tables.

Teresa, just for a test,
Go to the Windows command prompt, type DIR and hit Enter,
All the subdirectories and files should be in Alphabetical order.
This should test Dircmd and show one page at a time.
I'm still working on the data page problem.

Hi Jerry
I have a really dumb question how do I get to my windows command prompt? I
automatically go to my desktop when I start up.
I do appreciate your patience.

You can also use the spreadsheet feature of Works to enter the data,
and then copy it to the other document, or link it.

Hi, again Teresa,
click Start, All Programs, Accessories,
click Command Prompt.
You should see: C:\Windows
This is the Command or Dos prompt.
Type DIR and hit Enter, to see the Windows Directory.
If you want to experiment, just drag the Command prompt in the start menu to
the desk top and select copy here, then all you have to do is double click
the Icon to be at the Windows Dos prompt.
To Return to Windows, type EXIT and hit Enter.
Have fun,
Jerry

Hi Jerry
Thanks so much for your help and patience. I did as you indicated on the
instructions Typed DIR hit enter and all that came up was a list of Dir by
Date and time only.
I tried clicking on different things, but can't get any other data.
I'm sure confused.

Good Morning, Teresa,
When you type DIR at the Command prompt, you should see first, all the sub
directories and scrolling down, all the files associated with the Windows
folder, and in alphabetical order.
Try hitting any key to make the folder jump down a page at a time until you
see the Windows prompt, then type EXIT to return to Windows.
I wish I was close enough to show you, do you have anyone who could help you
?
