Your problem sound very much like what I ran into today,
only my error message is that there is not a modem
connected to the system. I had no conflicts and the querey
checked out fine. I uninstalled, even removed the modem
from the mother board and still could not connect to my
internet. I ened up uninstalling Windows XP so I could
use the internet. Will try later to reinstall WinXP when
I get a few more answers. I was not able to change the com
port for MSN8, it would only use com port 1, so no modem
was found.
