Really strange, can supposedly format a floppy but no way
can I write or read. Device manager reports its working
fine - I did try removing and rebooting to no avail.
Says "system cannot read from drive". Help!

Hello Mary

Try this

I actually found a solution from Microsoft. To resolve the problem I had

to use regedit to open the registry look for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\
{4D36E980-E32511CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. Delete the
UpperFilters (and LowerFilters if any) Restart PC and all
is well with my floppy drive.
