Merv, the font side bus refers to a property of the
motherboard, not the CPU. The CPU must fit the socket
supplied on the motherboard. For example, newer, faster
CPU's require the proper CPU socket on the motherboard.
You can't just plug any CPU into any motherboard. The
font side bus speed is actully dependent upon the speed of
the DDR Dram memory that you install in it. DDR Dram
comes in 3 different speeds, and if your mother board
supports them all, buying the fastest DDR Ram will enable
the motherboard to accellerate to its fastest front side
bus speed. The best place to get good answers to these
questions is to go to a shop where they build computers,
not a place like COMPUSA. The smaller shops will have
people that will now only sell you components but will
help you to get the machine running after the parts are
assembled, often at no charge.
