Well, I revisited this question and here's a PARTIAL solution
(to the question about how to select multiple files when in
one-click mode on xp)

If you do a SEARCH , the following works (as described by JOHNNY 1) :

Float mouse without clicking over the first file name
until it highlights.

After it highlights, hold down CTRL and float mouse over
next filename until it highlights.

However, the above does NOT work in a SAVE AS box.

So the question of how to do it in a SAVE AS box is still open.
