Disk Drive Problems

My computer will not read disks in the a drive or CD Rom.
It states they are not formatted (they worked on here
earlier)and when the computer tries to format them, it
says there is an error and it can't be done. I've gone
through troubleshooting, system restore... nothing
helps. The devices page states that the disk is running
as it should. Help!
