I recently installed XP. I have only two programs
loaded - one is quite large - TradeStation7.0. The other
is Office97. Computer is COMPAQ PRESARIO with split hard
drive. I'm getting a message that drive D is low on
space. I did all the cleanups, defrags, delete files,
etc. Drive C has 70% free. I understand there's a way
to partition the drives to distribute the files. Does
anyone know how I can transfer some files from D to C to
free up some space on D? Thanks.

In addition to what Jim posted, in the future be sure to check that any
programs you install go to your D drive. Most all programs give you the
choice of which directory you want to install to. Of course a portion of all
programs must install on C drive by default, but the rest will load the
directory you specify.

Check to see where your virtual memory swap file is. You may wish to change
this.
