No, it will not work. Your Windows 98 drive does not contain the =
hardware
drivers necessary to work with a different computer.

How to Multiple Boot Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows 95, =
Windows 98, Windows Me, and MS-DOS

How do I install Windows=AE 98/Me after I've installed XP?

Yes, of course it is possible. Just make sure you set it up as a slave disk
and not as the master. It is actually quite simple.

Then I had better tell my e: drive, transferred from my Win 98SE system,
that it should not be working. The programs were not much use under XP, but
the data and keys for purchased software were. I ought also to tell it, in
the strongest possible terms, that it has no right to work under NTFS,
either. It is a very willful drive, however, and insists on doing its job.

You will be able to access the files.
Programs will be touch and go as files they require may not be in the proper
place. Some will work, some won't. Your best bet would be to reinstall
anything that you want to use (make sure they are compatible with Windows XP
to minimize any compatibility issues).
