problems with shutting down

When shutting down, system reboots itself and sometimes
takes a lot of attempts to shutdown. pls help

Disconnect the network cable from the network card.
Does the problem go away?
If yes, go to BIOS and look for something like "Wake on LAN" WOL and
disable it.
