After three months, I have finally figured out why my Ceyndene
(Pioneer DVR-105) would not be recognized in XP.
Instead of using the standard cables that came along with the ASUS MB,
I went out and purchased some round cables since I thought they would
be easier to route through the computer.
Apparently these don't work well with the DVD-RW. After swapping out
the cables, the DVD-RW can finally read and access CD/DVDs. The
premiun cables I purchased ended up setting me back three months in my
computer construction.
I want to share this in case someone else is going through the same
problems.
