I recently installed a new hard drive. XP sees the hard
drive in the Device Manager, however it doesn't recognize
it as a new drive because it hasn't been partitioned yet.
I know in previous versions of Windows, you could do this
by running fdisk, but I don't think that works with XP.
Any ideas??? Thanks.

From XP, Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk
Management and look lower right for the graphic of the drive. R-click
in the 'Unallocated space' and take 'Create Partition (going on to
format it). You may decide to use a single partition or make more,
depending on the disk's size and your needs. Note that XP will insist
on using NTFS on any partition over 32GB
