Jonathan: We both use bellsouth DSL. When you hook up the westell
modem,
without loading any software, you can type, launchmodem, in the
address bar
it will load software if you are using ethernet connection. It works
great,
but on the page it takes you to I had to hit the remote access button
for
mine to work. I did the same on his but when I got home we couldn't
talk on
messenger, still can't. The modems are UPnP. No routers. His pc is
new, it
does have norton anti virus installed. I doubt the remote access has
anything to do with it once the modem is activated. If I reboot it
goes back
to disabled but Windows Messenger will be in the system tray and we
can use
text fine, just no voice.
