I have a SCSI HD on an Adaptec SCSI card with a Seagate SCSI drive. I also
have a Promise ATA100TX2 card with an ATA100 hard drive.

I boot using the Seagate SCSI drive.

The system seems to work a little slow and when I run Bootvis I get a
warning that "Disk Write Caching is not Enabled."

I then go into Device Manager/Disk Drives/Properties/Policies Tab of the
hard drive on the ATA100TX2 to enable disk write caching and the check
box is not there. ( The check box IS there and checked for the SCSI
drive. ) Everything else on the page is "greyed out." Also, curiously, the
greyed out portion says something to the effect that I can safely remove
the device as if it is a removable drive or usb device. ( Actually, the
system does think that the hard drive is a removable SCSI device. )
The HDD is a fixed internal disk.

What is going on? :-) How do I get the checkbox so that I can enable
Disk Write Caching?

Thank you in advance for any help and it is appreciated. :-)
