i burn a new file and
the burner erases all the old files
on the c`d.moke

XP's built in burner is not designed to do multi-sessions.
When you burn a second time it is altering the directory
structure and then the previous files are not seen. I think
that the files can be found with software that finds all the
directories, but you really need to use 3rd party software
if you're going to use multi-session burning.

The built in recorder does support multi-session for data discs.
