View Full Version : Sound doesn work

I just formatted my hard drive, and shortly after
reinstalling xp all sounds except midi sounds will
sometimes play only for a few seconds before stopping,
and other times not at all. I have a Soundblaster AWE64
and no hardware conflicts.
It happened right after I enabled APM, and disabling APM
again didn't fix it, so I used system restore to go back
to just after xp was finished installing, and that
worked. But the problem came back, and I can't seem to
fix it without restoring all the way back to a fresh
system. Going back to a fresh system every couple days is
not an option, so any ideas?

It may be time to update to a new system. It seems that you have a =
motherboard that supports ISA, and as you should know, motherboard =
manufacturers dumped ISA around 4 years ago. You can get a barebones =
system with CPU + RAM + Motherboard and case for less than 200.00

Hello
Well what type of soundcard do you have and do you have
the correct drivers installed for it.
