Hello

What you have to do is remove all driver (for your scanner) that related

to win98, then go to www.hp.com and find the driver for your scanner
that support XP ok, and then install

Maybe the advice from Jim Macklin will help.
I have the same scanner working OK in Windows XP Home.
It's attached to an Adaptec AHA-2940AU PCI SCSI Controller Card iso the
ISA SCSI card it came with and that I used when I still had ISA slots in
my computer.

Hello

Well when ever you upgrade to do create some some problems
along the way, see I did not upgrade but do a full install.

Up to now I never upgraded a Windows version, I always do clean
installations even when I change Windows to a higher version on
computers of family, friends, neighbours etc.
That way you get rid of a lot of garbage and potential trouble.

I'm running Windows 98SE from a RAID1 array, the drives are attached to
Promise IDE sockets on the Asus A7V133 motherboard.
I installed Windows XP on a seperate harddisk attached to a regular IDE
port while I had the Promise chip disabled and the drives disconnected.

I switch between the two from Bios Setup, Windows 98SE doesn't know
anything about the harddisk with XP Home (disabled) and I did take away
the drive letters of the RAID1 array in XP Home.
