I have a 8gig master and have install a 40gig as a slave
to store music, data, etc. BIOS and Xp show drives as
working properly but there is no drive letter assigned.
Also have CD as a secondary master and CDWrite as Bus D3.
They are being assigned D and E. What do I need to do to
see new 40G drive?

By install, did you mean that you simply attached the drive to the
computer? Drives have to be partitioned and formatted before they
can be used. Follow the steps below to do this:

1. Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage and select Disk
Management from the next window.
2. Right-click on the drive with unallocated space and choose
Initialize Disk.
3. The wizard will take you through the steps for preparing the
disk for use.
