Ok the modem works fine on any os except Win Xp. Download
the newest drivers does the same. Everytime you install
the driver Xp ask you to continue anyway so you click
continue. Just before the end of the installation it
crashes and bombs out not installing any modem. Now here's
the f-up, try any other USB modem on any Xp machine - IT
WON'T WORK!

Did you have the modem connected when you installed the drivers? If so,
it might have contributed to the install failure. If XP does not have
drivers natively for a USB device, usually the instructions are to
install the drivers, then connect the device. Otherwise XP is likely to
identify the device as just about anything convenient and update some
already inappropriate driver leading to all kinds of problems. You can
try to deinstall the modem, with it connected, from device manager, and
also check Add/Remove for anything that might have been added there.
Then remove the modem, install the XP drivers, and then connect the
modem so it has a chance to be identified correctly.
