I have two systems, up-graded both with Soyo P4X400 Dragon
Lite motherboards (with C-Media 8738 onboard audio), 2Ghz
Celeron processors, 256 MB DDR2700 Ram, ATI Radeon 7500
video. One I have XP Pro, the other XP Home. The XP Pro
everything runs perfect. On the system with XP Home, the
sound plays so low, you can only hear it with the volume
all the way up. At first I thought it was a faulty
speakers, tried others, no change. Took the motherboard
back, got another one, same problem.

I un-installed all the audio stuff, re-installed, no
change. Re-installed XP home, no change. Updated drivers
for C-media from microsoft, no change. The system was
upgraded previously from Win 98 to W2K (previously Sony
VAIO desktop with ATI Rage II video), before installing XP
with the new hardware. Tried the MS Knowledge base,
nothing suggested helps. Tried C-Media and Soyo, nothing
there helps.

Anyone else seen similar problem or have a suggestion?
