Im new to XP .. is there a safe mode option on startup...
want to get basic vga drivers - have trouble getting in with full colours on
an old monitor...

1. Open XP's "Help and Support".
2. Type: SAFE MODE , and hit enter.
3. Click on the topic: "Start Windows in Safe Mode".

Hi ;-)
I cannot get that far... I installed XP on my machine , then gave the
machine to a relative who has an older monitor..

Can i click F8 for startup options?

I can see the boot up sequenece but when i get to the XP login screen its
very fuzzy...

Hi,

Yes, you can press F8 to enter safe mode and select safe
mode with networking.
But why need to go to safe mode?
Just start your PC as normal, right click on desktop then
click property and click the setting tab, you can change
the resolution and color mode there.

YES! You must be fast and press F8 when you see "Starting Windows ......"
before the graphical XP starting screen.
