I just got a new system with Windows XP and it doesn't
give me a drop down list of previous entries in an input
field such as a series of stock symbols for getting stock
quotes. Windows 98 on my old pc would give me a list to
select from so I wouldn't have to reenter all the
symbols. What am I missing? I've tried tech support at
the store where I bought the pc and I asked tech support
for the pc. They couldn't fix it for me. HELP, I don't
want to do all the extra typing.

Hi Doug,

I assume you are referring to the AutoComplete
options in Internet Explorer. If not, please ignore my post.

The AutoComplete option in Internet Explorer
automatically helps you complete entries in input fields
that you had typed in previously
To enable this option in IE, go to
Tools ->Internet Options->Content->Auto Complete...
Ensure that the 'Forms' check box under the
'Use AutoComplete For' groupbox is checked.
That should enable AutoComplete for Form fields,
and that should take care of not having you to retype previously
entered form fields in IE.

Regards,
Aravind
