Is there any way on windows xp/98, 0r 97 to access
documents the way they were before they were last
modified and saved?
If anyone out there knows, I would be extremely grateful
if they could reply.

I suppose, if you haven't done ANYTHING else after you saved your doc (ZERO
other disk-writes), that a professional data recovery company could find the
ghost (the data is still around until it gets overwritten, but the OS no
longer knows where to find it) of your old document. But if any part of the
space where it was stored has been overwritten, the doc is gone.
