I am thinking of upgrading from ME to XP. I like the extra security
features of pro, but am concerned about my computer resources (600 Mhz PII
with 256 RAM). Does pro take a lot more computer resources to run?
I am even considering Windows 2000, thats what I have at work. Will I have
trouble with software running on 2000 (i.e. is there a lot of software out
there that will not run on 2K)? Will 2K overload my machine?

Hello Sapce Man
Either XP Pro or Win2k will work fine and I run both at home
with no problems. Just remember to make sure that all your hardware
will support the new OS

That is quite adequate for XP; I ran on the Betas effectively on a P III
450 and 192MB. You might wish to turn off the first ten of the visual
effects at
Control Panel - System - Advanced - Performance; click Settings
some of which are heavy on CPU use. And heavy multimedia, like DVD
movies are going to be tough at that speed without a video card that
gives hardware support. But that applies whatever the system
