Hi all,

I have a Sony Laptop PCG-GR215MP with a built in Sony
Memory Stick Slot (reader/writer), XP Professional, SP1.

The Slot has disappeared from 'My Computer' and is no
longer working when a stick is inserted.

The device manager shows an 'Unkown USB Device' which has
no drivers loaded.

The slot used to work fine when I purchased the laptop.
Somehow it seems that the drivers have disappeared and
the device is no longer recognised (perhaps from the
instalation of windows updates?).

I have tried updating the drivers etc, etc, but no luck.

Any ideas? Please help, Thanks!

Hi -

You may wish to pay a visit to Sony's support site. There was a memory
stick driver update for my VAIO PCG-R505EL laptop that covers many models
and addresses issues with Windows 2000 and XP Home/Pro.
