In word97 (maybe similar in your version), Insert/Symbol -=20
change the font to (normal text), and the half/quarters=20
are there.
OR
=BC =BD =BE
which are made by :-
1. pressing and holding down the left Alt key
2. keying 0 1 8 8/ 0 1 8 9 / 0 1 9 0 on the keypad
Alt-0189 =3D =BD
