I have a user that been using his xp pro machine logging
into local machine.... I added his machine to my win
win2k domain .... logged on to his local machine to copy
his local profile to his new profile and receive the
following error.....unable to delete destination profile..

i gave local admin full permissions on everything, still
didnt work.....

I did notice one thing, his new profile locates as a
subdir under his old local profile.....C:\Documents and
Settings\LocalUsername\NewUsername.domain It should
locate as a sudir directly under C:\Documents And
Settings\UserName.domain

I'd copy his current local profile to a temporary directory (just to have it
backed up) then delete the new .domain profile. Check to see if the subdir
under his local profile is gone. If so, re-log in on his domain account and
see if it creates a new profile under the documents and settings dir where
it should. If it does, then you should be able to copy his local to his
domain, making sure to set permissions on the copy page so that his domain
account has permissions to the profile.
