printer problem

I purchased to XP home progrms an d installed on two compaq
desktops...printer works on one but not on the
other...puters are just alike..I have tried everything,
change cables, ports and etc.....still no work...help

Assuming you meant, two XP Home, more details are needed to
give a good answer.
What Compaq desktop, what printer? USB or parallel cables?
Are the ports enabled in the BIOS?

Well do you have the lastest drivers installed for your printer
and does it support your OS
